Virginia man stabs himself at home depot resulting in life-threatening wounds

Fairfax County Police officers responded early Tuesday morning to a Home Depot over reports of a man stabbing himself.

The bizarre incident took place at the store located on the 6500 block of Little River Turnpike in Lincolnia.

Officers evacuated the scene and transported the man to a local hospital. His injuries were described as “life-threatening.”

  • “Officers were dispatched to the Home Depot in Alexandria at 8:17 a.m. for a man armed with a knife stabbing himself inside the store,” Sgt. Tara Gerhard said.

    “Officers took the man into custody and he was taken to an area hospital for treatment of self-inflicted injuries that are considered life-threatening.”

    Local roads have been closed temporarily until 12:30 p.m. Sgt. Gerhard said that “the store and parking lot will remain closed while officers continue to investigate.”
