Car belonging to missing Louisiana woman found submerged in body of water; Deceased person inside being IDed

A few days after she vanished on her way to meet friends at a local casino, the car of a missing Louisiana woman was found submerged in waters in Mississippi.

Courtney Johnson’s gray Mazda was recovered from a body of water near Interstate 10 inside the Mississippi state line Friday with a female body inside.

Police have been looking for Johnson who last phoned a friend Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. telling them she was driving along I-12, La. and about to meet them at a Biloxi casino.

  • “There are so many things that run through your mind and you just want to cry but then you just want her to run into your arms,” Johnson’s grieving mom said.

    “I do not wish this upon anybody to go through what we are going through. This is my one and only child; my one and only child.”

    Johnson had several scleroses and could become tired easily, her mom added.
