The 38-year-old Alabama man found dead inside his parked car early Monday morning is no other than a beloved former Alabaster Pastor and mental health coach.
Glenn Stephen “Steve” Austin never hid struggling with mental health issues for more than two decades to the point of attempting suicide in 2016.
He survived the intentional pills overdose and decided to publish a book “From Pastor to a Psych Ward” to raise awareness about mental illness, and the “living hell” of surviving a suicide attempt.
“Faith was part of my journey, but so was medication, a powerful support system, and grueling hours in therapy. This book is for anyone who has nearly died by suicide and is left wondering ‘what’s next’.”
Those who met Austin, took to social media to mourn his death following the successful suicide attempt, describing him as “a gift” in their lives.
“He helped so many people asked for nothing in return,” said Peter. M. Olsen. “Thank you for helping people make their lives better, thanks Steve for being unapologetically you.”
