Florida authorities said Friday that human remains found off Interstate-75 two days earlier were positively identified as slain Alachua County teen.
The aunts of 13-year-old Delia Young had already been arrested after they admitted to hiding her death in mid-May by claiming she had run away from the house.
Marian Williams, the 57-year-old guardian of Delia, told detectives that her sister Valerie Young, 52, had been brutally beaten the teen with an electric cord on May 15.
The following day, Delia was found dead in her bedroom and the sisters conspired to hide the death by wrapping the body in a tote bag that they left at Williams’ other property.
But Williams claimed that a couple of days later, she went to check on the corpse and only find the empty bag that she set on fire.
She insisted that only she and Young had the keys to the uninhabited property.
