NY man arrested after body parts of missing girlfriend found dispersed all around home they shared

Rochester news, New York news.

After a nationwide manhunt, New York authorities said that they’ve arrested a murder suspect in West Virginia in connection with his girlfriend’s grisly killing.

Lisa Shuler, 37, went missing last month but it took detectives a few days to learn that she had died a “suspicious death” and had been dismembered.

Around her Culver Road, Rochester home, a passerby spotted human remains. A two-day search of the area and a nearby park revealed more body parts.

On Wednesday, the remains were positively identified as Shuler’s. Immediately, police began an extensive search for her boyfriend, 40-year-old Seth Larson.

“We’re asking for help to get it across the country, this information across the country. We don’t know exactly where he’s headed. So he could be going anywhere so that’s why we’re asking for that assistance.”

Larson was arrested early Thursday after he contacted a local hospital in West Virginia, asking for an ambulance.

“He had called for an ambulance and his name was provided. “When the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office obtained his name, he was listed in a national database he was wanted as a person of interest in our case, so they reached out to contact law enforcement.”

Larson and Shuler knew each other for more than ten years. The victim was set to graduate from the Isabella Graham Hart School of Nursing next fall.
