Florida authorities said that two aunts of a missing teen have confessed they hid her body after she died of abuse, but claimed they did not find it days later.

Delia Young, 13, went missing earlier this month and her guardian aunt, Marian Williams, 57, told detectives her sister, Valerie Young, 52, had badly beaten the teen with an electrical cord that evening.

Williams said that she asked the girl if she needed medical help for her injuries and went to sleep, only to find out that Delia succumbed to her wounds overnight.

  • The two women then decided to hide the death and put Delia’s body in a tote bag they removed to an empty house owned by Williams on May 16.

The guardian aunt felt upset about Delia’s passing and went back to the home and “sat in the bedroom with the deceased child’s body,” she alleged.

On May 18, she went to check on the teen’s remains again but did not find the body. She said that after searching the place, she set fire on the tote bag.

Delia’s body remains missing, police said, while her two aunts face manslaughter and tampering with evidence charges.
