New York City news, New York news.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced the “Vax & Scratch” pilot program that, similarly to the “Ohio Vax-a-million” would allow fully vaccinated residents to win prizes including a Mega $5million sum.

“The chances of winning something in this program is one of nine,” Cuomo said insisting that “everyone wins” when a New Yorker decides to get inoculated.

The lottery operation will start on May 24 and end four days later. Cuomo added that pop-up vaccination sites will be set up across the State.

Those vaccinated were allowed to get rid of their face masks and abandon social distancing outside, even in large groups.

“This means that 399 days after New York was the first state in the country to implement a mask mandate, effective today, fully vaccinated individuals no longer need to use a face covering in most public places,” Cuomo said earlier this week.
