An Amazon construction site in Windsor, Connecticut has been shut down after a seventh noose was found hanging there in what was described as “potential” hate crimes.

The previous noose was discovered Wednesday at the Windsor site and prompted an extensive investigation that saw several law enforcement agencies joining forces.

In a statement, the company announced that it will close the warehouse until Monday to implement advanced security measures.

  • “We continue to be deeply disturbed by the incidents happening at the construction site in Windsor. Hate, racism, or discrimination have no place in our society and are certainly not tolerated in an Amazon workplace.”

The FBI and state authorities are offering $100,000 for relevant information about the suspect(s).

An ironworker at the site said that he had been subject to racist remarks multiple times in the past.

“Personally, on this job here, I have seen a lot of racism. This is not the only construction site that these things occur on, and it has to stop.”
