The guardian of Cash Gernon and his twin brother said that a couple of days prior to the tragedy, the suspected murderer visited her home while she was out shopping.
Monica Sherrod recalled how she was frustrated to find 18-year-old Darriynn Brown playing with Cash and his brother without her permission.
“I told him, ‘Don’t come back around my kids. I don’t want you,” she said adding that she even scolded her own son and daughter for letting Brown in.
“He was only here a short time. Emily (Sherodd’s daughter) said he creeped her out. I got upset with them.”
Surveillance footage caught Brown snatching the toddler from his bed early Saturday before he returned for his twin brother Carter. The boys have been in Sherrod’s care since their biological dad, her boyfriend, went missing.
“I don’t know where Trevor is. I have tried reaching out but I’m getting no response.”
Cash was found dead in a pool of his blood Saturday morning by a jogger. He had no shoes or shirt on and appeared to be stabbed with an “edged weapon.”
