NYPD arrest several ‘persons of interest’ after subway slashing spree that targeted 4 people within 35 minutes

The NYPD arrested several “persons of interest” in connection with a slashing spree that targeted four straphangers in Manhattan subways within 35 minutes early Friday.

The attacks were brief and random starting at around 4:25 a.m. The victims included two 44 years old and 40-year-old men, waiting for the train at Street Union Square Station and Astor Place subway station.

  • The last victim was also robbed after being slashed into the back of his head. The suspects then took the 4 train heading to Brooklyn.

    Authorities arrested perpetrators at around 1 p.m. within Transit District 1 in Broadway.

    Their identities were not immediately disclosed. The attacks against the four straphangers were random and involved more than two suspects.
