Aventura Police have arrested several suspects after a shooting at a local mall that left three people wounded Saturday afternoon.
City Major Michael Bentolila said that it started with a fight between two groups of people outside a Hugo Boss store at the mall at around 3:39 p.m.
One of the people involved in the fight produced a gun prompting an opponent to pull out a weapon and open fire.
Authorities believe that the gunman was not among the arrested and several law enforcement agencies are looking for him.
The three injured people were rushed to a hospital with one being currently in the trauma unit.
“I can’t even begin to describe the chaos,” witness Derek Smart said.
“It’s the most heartbreaking thing I have ever witnessed. Moms, kids, yelling & screaming, falling, tripping, kids – lost in the fray – amid the chaos and running around blindly in search of their parents.”
