Human remains stuffed in freezer found in Alaska woods

Fairbanks authorities are investigating a gruesome finding of a freezer packed with human body parts in woods.

Police received a tip regarding the freezer at around 6 a.m. Monday and located it in a wooded area, nearly 100 feet from the Tok Cutoff road.

  • After discovering human remains inside it, the responding troopers alerted investigators with Fairbanks and Glennallen Police Departments as well as the Tok Department of Transportation.

    “The freezer and remains were transported to the state medical examiner in Anchorage for examination and identification,” a police report said.

    It did not provide further details regarding the remains’ condition, citing the ongoing investigation.
