Attempted murder suspect ambushes Jewish family-of-3, slashes parents and 1-year-old baby

A Jewish family walking around a park in New York was targeted by a paroled man who had previous convictions of second-degree attempted murder.

The New York couple and their 1-year-old baby were attacked on Wednesday evening as they strolled around Battery Park.

  • 30-year-old Darryl Jones walked by them before suddenly turning back and slashing the three of them.

    The NYPD described the attack as a possible hate crime and said that all victims have been treated on the scene for minor injuries.

    Jones was released on parole in February. He has a lengthy criminal record that includes 12 arrests and several convictions for assault and attempted murder offenses.
