A Jewish family walking around a park in New York was targeted by a paroled man who had previous convictions of second-degree attempted murder.
The New York couple and their 1-year-old baby were attacked on Wednesday evening as they strolled around Battery Park.
30-year-old Darryl Jones walked by them before suddenly turning back and slashing the three of them.
The NYPD described the attack as a possible hate crime and said that all victims have been treated on the scene for minor injuries.
Jones was released on parole in February. He has a lengthy criminal record that includes 12 arrests and several convictions for assault and attempted murder offenses.
