QAnon conspiracy theorists believe Boulder and Atlanta mass shootings are ‘false flags’ that aim to enforce gun-control

QAnon followers labeled the latest mass shootings in Boulder and Atlanta as “false flags” asserting that the tragic events were staged and that no one had actually died.

The disturbing conspiracies thrived on social media threads including Gab, Telegram, and Reedit within the few hours following Monday evening’s bloody rampage.

Ahmad Alissa, 21, was charged with 10 counts of murder in connection with the shooting spree that he perpetrated at the King Soopers using an AR-15 rifle.

But QAnon followers said that the tragedy just like the one that claimed eight victims in Atlanta days earlier was “orchestrated” to help push gun-ban legislation and also to distract the public from the US-Mexico border crisis.

Another QAnoner jokingly added: “This false flag was executed about as cleanly as Biden on a staircase,” referring to the President’s fall on Air Force One’s steps.

Rita Katz, the director of Site Intelligence Group, commented on the conspiracy theories advanced by QAnoners.

“Every tragedy is a reason for far-right/conspiracy adherents to swarm like vultures, calling the Atlanta shootings a false flag to stoke anti-white sentiments, or going with the hallmark QAnon narrative of human trafficking based on stereotypes.”
