Another random shooting in Brooklyn leaves 17-year-old dead on sidewalk, 2 pals injured; No arrests made

Gun violence in New York City is claiming more lives after yet another random shooting that targeted three young men walking in Brooklyn Saturday morning.

The shooting occurred at around 10:15 a.m. as the trio walked along E. 82nd St. near Farragut Road in Canarsie.

Suddenly, a silver sedan pulled off to allow a gunman to get out and opening fire at the unexpecting men, killed a 17-year-old.

  • “I heard the shots and I got under the counter in my kitchen, but then said no, it’s morning time. That wouldn’t happen now,” witness Carmen Brown recalled.

    “I finally came outside and a boy was on the sidewalk. We realized he was dead.”

    The decedent was fatally struck in the chest while his 19 and 20 years old friends sustained bullet wounds to the face and legs. The suspect remains at large.

    “There was blood everywhere. I couldn’t believe what I saw. People word hard here. They mind their business. To get killed walking on a beautiful morning – it’s a tragedy.”
