Authorities in Louisiana said that a house fire erupted at a trailer home in Natchitoches and cops responding to the scene discovered the decomposing bodies of a woman and a dog.
The incident occurred on Feb. 1 when the trailer of 58-year-old Ronald Griffith caught fire from a suspected electrical malfunction.
The Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal said that a human body was found inside the trailer along with a dog’s body.
Griffith told detectives that the victim was a 49-year-old woman he allowed to live in the trailer after finding her sleeping at a local cemetery.
He said that after she passed away, he did not report her death and lived with the remains for several months.
Griffith was charged with unlawful disposal of human remains and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Jail.
