A Hudson County Corrections officer reportedly told police he “lost it” and fatally shot his girlfriend and her best friend on their way to the airport for a vacation that upset him.

John Menendez, 23, was arrested on Feb. 17 and charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose.

Anna Shpilberg and Luiza Shinkarevskaya, of Ukraine, planned for a vacation trip and asked Menendez, who is Shpilberg’s boyfriend, for a ride.
