The massive search for a missing Kansas woman turned tragic after authorities located her Ford Escape and found her dead inside almost 72 hours after the death of her boyfriend.
Worried relatives of Kaylah Blackmon reported her missing on Jan. 31 after she exited the family house in Wichita and has not returned, local media outlets reported.
Kaylah’s boyfriend, 17, was gunned down outside an abandoned church early this week. Three days later, authorities located her vehicle near an apartment complex in Wichita.
“I will forever have a hole in my heart,” the teen’s grieving mom told reporters.
“But will tell lots of stories to keep her memory alive so her baby sister will know who she was.”
Both deaths are currently investigated as homicide and as of Friday, no further details were made public.
