Kansas woman, 18, believed to be in danger after boyfriend found dead in abandoned church

Kansas authorities are looking for an 18-year-old woman believed to be in danger after the deceased body of her boyfriend was discovered outside a church.

17-year-old Michael Beasley’s official cause of death was not publicly released but police discovered him dead following a shooting report.

Shortly after the grisly finding near an abandoned church Monday morning, authorities issued a statement asking for the public’s help to locate Beasley’s girlfriend.

Kaylah Blackmon was nowhere to be found after Beasley’s death and detectives fear she might be targeted too.

  • “WPD is requesting help locating 18-year-old Kaylah Blackmon of Wichita and her grey 2005 Ford Escape with Kansas license plate 566NPK in connection to a homicide investigation,” the statement reads.

    Wichita Police officer Charley Davidson said due to the ongoing investigation. Few details could be released at the moment.

    “Through our investigation, our investigators believe that Blackmon might be in danger,” Davidson added.
