Texas College student stabbed & killed by boyfriend also found dead at nearby home

While conducting a welfare check at the home of a 23-year-old woman late Wednesday night, Texas cops found her deceased body with numerous stab wounds. They also found her ex-boyfriend dead in another apartment nearby.

Molly Beckman, a Texas Tech Health Sciences Center student, was fatally stabbed at her house in the Ashton Pointe Apartments on February 3, Lubbock police mentioned.

Her ex-boyfriend, Colton Totzke, was found lifeless in an apartment nearby that same night.

No further information regarding the 23-year-old man’s death was available as of Thursday but investigators said he is the main suspect in Beckman’s slaying.

  • Following Beckman’s murder, the TTUHSC released an emotional statement mourning their late student:

    “The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center family is deeply saddened to learn of the death of TTUHSC student Molly Beckman at her off-campus residence. Our community mourns her tragic loss.”

    “During this time, please respect her family’s privacy and grief as well as those in our university family.”

    “In the days ahead, we hope her family and friends will find some comfort in knowing their loss is shared by our School of Health Professions and university.”
