A Thursday fatal stabbing is being investigated after a boy stabbed a girl of his same age and killed her at a Chattanooga home, authorities said.
Police responded to the scene in the 4900 block of Eastwood Drive off Jersey Pike early in the morning.
They came upon a dead body of a 12-year-old girl with apparent multiple stab wounds. The suspect was also at the scene.
“A male suspect was also located on the scene and was detained. Investigators with the Violent Crimes Bureau responded to conduct an investigation,” the Chattanooga Police said in a statement.
“Based on interviews and observations during the course of the investigation, the initial suspect has now been arrested and is charged with first-degree murder,” the statement added.
