Portland Police are investigating what could have led a 12-year-old girl to attack her dad and stab him twice on Wednesday morning.
The ordeal occurred at the Winter Street residence of the unidentified man. Police responded to the scene at around 10 a.m.
The man had stab wounds to the chest and stomach while the juvenile had cuts on one hand.

“The preliminary investigation indicates that the 12-year-old girl was responsible for the attack on her father,” Deputy Police Chief Tim Cougle said.
“Both subjects were treated on the scene by the Auburn Fire Department and transported to a local hospital. The male victim is in serious but stable condition.”
Police are investigating the incident. No motive has been determined.
