Queens man stabs elderly father dead, attacks mom & 2 relatives

An early Thursday incident prompted a hazmat team to respond to a 911 call about a mass suicide at around 6:29 a.m.

But when firefighters arrived at the scene at 221-15 Hempstead Avenue, they discovered that a 30-year-old man acting erratically has fatally stabbed his 72-year-old dad and attacked others.

The man’s 70-year-old mom, a 29-year-old female relative, and a 32-year-old man were also injured and remain in critical condition.

  • The victims couldn’t be questioned over a motive since they were unconscious and unresponsive, police said.

    The suspect was taken into custody and brought to Queens General Hospital for a mental examination.
