New York City news, New York news.

Friends and classmates of a 16-year-old Queens boy are in disbelief after he suddenly and tragically passed away in a horrific car crash Thursday afternoon.

Pals of Dylan Moreno said that they were supposed to gather later that day but the passionate teen drove his Ford Mustang at over 100mph down 80th Avenue in Glen Oaks, just blocks away from home, and lost control of the vehicle.

The black sports car plowed into a tree at around 2:50 p.m. then into another along the roadside before it totally split into pieces sending him flying and mangling debris to residents’ lawn.

One of them, an elderly woman, was picking the metal pieces off her property as she recalled the horrific incident.

When police responded to the scene, Moreno was laying on the street with a fatal head injury. He was pronounced dead at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.

“It literally split into multiple pieces, you could see his motor took out my fence,” another resident recalled. “It hit the tree, split in half and the motor flew and hit our car.”

Grieving classmates were in tears as they visited the crash scene Friday. 15-year-old Matthew Heredia was there.

“He loved cars. He had a passion for cars. That was his own car that he was driving.”
