Wisconsin high school student dies suddenly of Covid-19 complication days after testing negative

A Wisconsin high school student has suddenly passed away on Thanksgiving and officials determined his death a result of his coronavirus infection even though he tested negative days earlier.

Isai Morocho, 16, was a junior at East High School in Madison. He was described as a great student who loved theater and cooking.

  • The teen died over the Thanksgiving break, his family said. Toxicology tests showed that he succumbed to “Covid-19 pneumonia”.

    “This is a tremendous loss to everyone in our community,” High School principal Brendan Kearney said. “Our hearts go out to his family in this time of unimaginable grief.”

    Prior to his death, the boy suffered from diarrhea and vomiting but never had respiratory issues hinting at his coronavirus infection.
