A tragic incident in New Orleans, Louisiana is being investigated after a 31-year-old man fatally stabbed his stepdad church trustee before being gunned down by a third person on Thanksgiving Day.
Police responded to the Tricou Street home off the 1500 block on Thursday morning where 82-year-old Elijah Johnson was stabbed to death.
Johnson’s wife was also stabbed in the face but survived her injuries. The suspect was identified as DeFranklin Reynolds, Johnson’s stepson.
Reynolds was put down by a relative who shot him several times to stop the rampage.
“This is just a tremendous loss for his family, and it’s a tremendous loss for the church and this community,” Pastor Willie Thomas.
Johnson, also known as “skinny”, was a trustee and an usher described as “a quiet guy, a sweet guy, a good guy.”
