An Arizona jail was the scene of a chaotic situation on Wednesday when hundreds of inmates refused to comply with officers’ instructions and started a riot.

Corrections officers at the Phoenix-area prison were surrounded by scores of inmates that grouped together and disobeyed dispersion commands.

A prisoner described how rioters broke windows of the building that turned into a “war zone.”
