Washington news, US news.

Joe Biden was declared the winner of the 2020 Presidential Election on Saturday morning after flipping the state of Pennsylvania, denying Donal Trump a second term in the White House.

The victory in Pennsylvania granted Biden 20 electoral votes to reach 284, more than he even needed to be called winner.

The Washington veteran who spent 50 years in the public life will now replace the real estate businessman that had no political experience when he won the 2016 race.

Biden became the 46th President of the United States after two previous failed attempt to win the presidency. He also served as vice President for Barack Obama.

"I am honored and humbled by the trust American people have placed in me and Vice-President Harris," Biden said in a statement following his victory.

"It's time to put the anger and the harsh rhetoric behind us and come together as a nation. It's time for America to unite. And to heal."
