A renowned Missouri attorney took his own life Monday evening by jumping from his high-rise office building, local press outlets reported.
61-year-old Charles “Ed” Brown fell to his death from the 11th floor shortly after 4:30 p.m. He was found lifeless on a roof down below, Missouri authorities mentioned.
The late lawyer who was often seen in televised publicities used to wear an eye patch to hide “an injury he received when he was a child.”
In 1993, he launched along with his sibling, Dan, a law firm named Brown & Brown to defend violence and crime victims.
He first worked “for Citicorp and as a Law Clerk with the Illinois 5th District Appellate Court”, according to the law firm’s official website.
Brown “enjoyed tennis, riding his motorcycle, sports cars, and traveling the world,” his co-worker, David Shulman told reporters.
“We are shocked and devastated. We request the privacy of the family is respected during this most difficult time.”
