Texas man, 21, wanted for fatal shooting of ex-girlfriend as she rode with new fiancé in car

An arrest warrant has been issued for a 21-year-old Texas man accused of fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend on a car ride with another man.

On Sunday, Julie Dela Garza’s fiance drove her to a local hospital shortly after 2 p.m., according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

She had sustained at least one bullet wound in the head after being shot by her former boyfriend, Mann Austin Hayes. She was declared dead the following day.

  • “I just want justice for Julie and I just want him to come forward,” the 20-year-old victim’s grieving sister said following her death.

    “I just want him to come forward so the investigation can continue and my sister can rest in peace.”

    The suspect’s empty car has been found in a parking lot on a road near Houston’s Hardy Acres. He is now facing several charges including first-degree murder and aggravated assault.
