Alabama authorities are investigating a vicious dog attack that claimed the life of a mother of four last Monday.
Ruthie Brown, 36-year-old, was attacked by a pack of dogs believed to have owners while walking on Jagger Road, Walker County. She died at the scene.
“We are not talking about just gaping wounds,” Coroner Joey Vick said. “One of her feet was completely dislocated from her ankle.”
Though detectives have not specified the number of the involved dogs or their breed, they believe they were large ones. Some have already been captured.
A local news outlet said that someone showed up to claim two of the dogs. But it is unclear if the owner would face criminal charges.
The seized dogs will be placed under the Humane Society’s custody as authorities investigate the incident.
