A newly rescued pit pull viciously attacked its owner killing her and severely injuring her 57-year-old son in the eye, arm, and nose when he tried to save his mother’s life, reports said.
It happened last Sunday at around 10 p.m. at Carolyn Varanese’s home. The 84-year-old woman who used a wheelchair was mauled to death by the animal in the bed after she let it sleep next to her.
The animal has also attacked Varanese’s son who had recently adopted it from a rescue organization: “He was trying to save his mom and the dog kept going for her jugular. The dog grabbed her ankles and he started beating the dog with the wheelchair,” Varanese’s son told a friend as they made their way to the hospital.
