Michigan Governor says she is ‘still being threatened’, lashes out at Trump for attacking her

Michigan news, US news.

In a Friday morning interview, a visibly disappointed Gretchen Whitmer said she was still being threatened and lashed out at the President who called her “that woman from Michigan” and “stoked” hate against her in a series of tweets he posted Thursday night.

“There is ongoing rhetoric. Even the President last night in his tweet-storm won’t stop attacking me, and I think that’s creating a very dangerous situation—Not just for me but for people in leadership roles,” the Michigan Governor said.

Whitmer said that the Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden, on the other hand, called and asked about her and her family following the foiled kidnapping plot that was targeting them.

She added: “Since he (Trump) first called me 'That woman from Michigan', we saw an increase in hateful language, each time he has tweeted about me, each time that he has said 'Liberate Michigan' and said I should negotiate the very people who are arrested because they are good people. That incites more domestic terror.”

At least six suspects have been taken into custody regarding the governor’s kidnapping plot. The men have planned for months to abduct Whitmer over the state’s lockdown, try and execute her.

“A decent human being would pick up the phone and say, ‘Are you ok? How’s your family doing?” Whitmer continued. “That’s what Joe Biden did and I think it tells you everything you need to know about the character of the two.”
