Arkansas news, US news.

More than a week after the tragic accident that claimed two children’s lives; disturbing videos of their mother have been released amid claims she was mentally ill.

On September 15 at around 4 a.m., Michael Rogers, 10, and his 3-year-old sister Princess Logan were fatally struck by a tractor-trailer on Highway 67 south of the Jackson-Craighead County Line, Arkansas.

The kids’ mom and the 77-year-old driver were not harmed when police arrived at the scene just before dawn.

Authorities didn’t reveal much information regarding the accident since apart from claiming that no suspects were sought and that a criminal investigation is underway.

The kids’ mom, identified as Layota Taylor had on that same day posted Facebook Live videos depicting her driving with her late children.

The woman seemed incoherent while speaking with her older child as he laughed in response. She drove erratically by times but didn’t appear to be intoxicated.

“It’s dark as hell out here,” she said. “Who the hell can stay in the dark like this? You’re either saved or you’re the devil.”

During the 17 minutes video, Taylor sang and cursed before claiming she was tired, to which her son innocently replied: “Why don’t you let me drive.”

Another video posted shortly later, the mom could be seen alone and not talking. A caption read: “Thanks for the gifts…we on vacation and it is a wonderful day.”

Relatives of the kids said that Taylor was mentally ill and struggled with her condition prior to the incident.
