Intoxicated dad causes death of daughter, 6, after flipping car over

New York authorities have arrested a dad they accused of unintentionally killing his 6-year-old daughter during a car crash.

It occurred on September 14 at around 6:25 p.m. when officers responded to the scene on St-Rt 63, Wayland.

30-year-old Derek Clark had just hit a light pole and rail guard causing his car to flip over. He was reportedly driving while intoxicated.

Leah Clark, Clark’s daughter, was declared dead at the scene. She was found strapped into a booster seat in the backside of the vehicle.

Clark was charged with vehicular manslaughter, aggravated drunk driving with a child, and driving while ability impaired by drugs.

He is being held on a $100,000 bond as the incident is being investigated.
