A deadly shooting has broken out at an off-campus party near Rutgers University in New Brunswick in the early hours of Sunday leaving two people dead and many others injured.
At least one gunman opened fire at the party attendees at around 1:30 a.m. on Delafield Street, according to the Rutgers University Police Department.
Two male victims were rushed to a local hospital where they passed away while at least six others were being treated for various injuries.
“Those injured were transported to an area hospital and injuries are reported to be serious,” Police Chief Kenneth Cop. “Information as to the description(s) of the perpetrators(s) is limited at this time and the investigation is active and ongoing.”
