Newark news, New Jersey news.

New Jersey Governor has expressed his condolences to a Newark family whose parents and son had passed away within few hours from coronavirus complications.

Larry and Vicki Freda, ages 85 and 83, died on April 24 after spending 62 years together. Two days earlier, their 51-year-old son John had succumbed to the same illness.

“Larry and Vicki had been married for 62 years when they passed,” Gov. Murphy said in a series of tweets. “Larry served in the U.S. Army before a 24-year career at the former Pabst Blue Ribbon Brewery in Newark. Everyone knew him for his humor and smile. Vicki made her career serving the township of Fairfield. She was incredibly creative and a den mother in the Cub Scouts for each of her three sons. May God bless these three souls.”
