New York City news, New York news.

A New York City man has fallen to his death from his fire escape on the 5th-floor apartment where he lived with his girlfriend for three years but the incident is raising suspicions.

30-year-old Colin Cotter was smoking a cigarette on his fire escape as he often did early on Friday when he slipped and fell, authorities said.

“This situation is very fishy and I don’t like it at all,” Cotter’s girlfriend. “I want an investigation. I want to find out…A big guy like that is just going to fall? We used to smoke on that fire escape all the time.”

A friend said that Cotter has been smoking there for “1,000 times.” Authorities ruled out suicide after reviewing surveillance footage.
