Father may be charged with toddler’s murder: Kept changing stories ‘none made any sense’

Kansas City news, Kansas news.

Mystery is surrounding the death of a 3-year-old girl after her body has been located not far from her Kansas City home on Friday, hours after she vanished.

Olivia Jansen’s father is now the main suspect in her case: Howard Jansen III has his toddler’s name tattooed above his left eye and was caring for her because of her mom’s incarceration, but investigators he suspiciously kept changing stories throughout the day and “none of them made any sense.”

Jansen reported Olivia missing after he woke up at 5:30 a.m. to find his back door open with no trace of her, he claimed. However, detectives said that he waited for three hours before reporting the incident, and also, given Olivia’s age, it is hard to believe that she left on her own overnight.
