A Kentucky father was so frustrated he couldn’t win arm-wrestling matches that he fired two shots trying to hit his juvenile son and barricaded himself for over seven hours before ultimately surrendering.
55-year-old Curtis Zimmerman was playing late-night arm-wrestling matches last Monday when he became enraged over losing. He entered in a physical altercation with the son then fired into the ceiling as the teen fled upstairs.
When police officers arrived, Zimmerman remained at home from 1 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. before compelling with SWAT teams’ orders and turning himself in.
According to investigators, Zimmerman was drunk when he challenged his son. He remains hospitalized but in custody on a 1st-degree wanton endangerment charge.
