Friends of 17-year-old Brandon Hendricks who was fatally shot during a birthday party on Sunday revealed that his final words were “call my mom.”

The victim had just graduated from James Monroe High School days ago when he was gunned down during a Bronx birthday party at around 11:50 p.m. Sunday. His best friend, Hammad Singleton, was holding him after he was shot in the neck, trembling.

“He started wobbling so I sat him down. I’m talking to him: ‘You’re good bro, you’re good?’ He’s like, ‘Yeah, I’m okay, I’m okay.’ He is trying to smile. He said, ‘Yo, I love you. Call my mom.’ He just closed his eyes and didn’t say anything else after that. That was it.”

Hendricks has played for Monroe for three years, averaging 12 points, six assists, and two steals this season.
