Two teens have been gunned down by a 19-year-old after they asked him how tall he was at a candy shop last Saturday.
Jasean Francis, 17, and Charles Riley, 16, were shot nine times while their friend escaped death when an angered Laroy Battle opened fire at them as they left the store.
“The victims were walking into the store, they saw Battle, he was standing in line while at the store and they commented that he was quite tall and asked him how tall he was and hoped to be that tall someday,” Deputy Chief Brendan Deenihan said. “Unfortunately, we will never even see the full growth of these poor children.”
Battle hid out at a local motel after discarding the weapon at a trash can. He was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
