According to local news outlets, a 44-year-old woman will spend the rest of her life behind bars for killing her husband and their 18 and 13-year-old daughters amid a financial argument in 2017.
Courtney Taylor fatally shot her 56-year-old husband and her daughters, Jessie and Jolee, in their bedrooms with a 9 mm gun on Jan. 13, 2017. She declined to drop the weapon and tried to take her own life which forced Whitley County Sheriff’s Deputy Jonas Saunders to shot her twice. While in the hospital, Taylor told police that she shot her husband dead because he spent a worker’s compensation settlement worth $264,000 she’d received several months before the tragedy occurred.
Investigators found a letter in which Taylor said she killed her teen daughters “because she didn’t want them growing up without a mother.”
