In an article published in the Science Journal, experts warned that the 6-feet recommended in public to avoid contracting the novel coronavirus is likely not enough as it was first believed.

Three scientists revealed that aerosol particles accumulate inside confined spaces for hours and remain infectious. The small particles can travel by air currents and be transported to other spaces. The experts also pointed out the fact that the six feet guidelines are based on the 1930s’ studies that should be reconsidered.

“Increasing evidence for SARS-CoV-2 suggests the 6 ft. WHO recommendation is likely not enough under many indoor conditions where aerosols can remain airborne for hours, accumulate and follow air flows over distances further than 6 ft.”
