US news, US news.

President Trump tweeted that there are “So many different viewpoints!” on masks, retweeting an article making the spurious claim that masks are more about social control than public health.

President Trump retweeted an article claiming that masks are more about social control than public health, replying to tweet by: "So many different viewpoints!"

The tweet the President promoted also showed Joe Biden saying, “Image of Biden in black mask endorses a culture of silence, slavery, and social death.”

Trump refused to wear a mask throughout the pandemic, and his act turned into more of a political and cultural flashpoint. Trump has made fun of Biden for wearing his mask many times and ignored CDC's and the taskforce's guidelines that Americans should wear a face covering.

Answering Trump's attacks towards him, Biden said: “He's a fool, an absolute fool to talk that way. I mean every leading doc in the world is saying you should wear a mask when you're in a crowd."

On Wednesday, Dr. Anthony Fauci invited all Americans to wear masks.

The nation's top infectious disease expert and a member of the White House's coronavirus task force said that by wearing a mask, people protect themselves and others. He also said that he believes that even if wearing a mask may not be 100% effective, it shows respect for others and is a valuable safeguard.
