US news, New York news.

Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that the first phase of reopening will happen either in the first or second week of June

De Blasio said on Thursday that there are still four parts of the state's economy that didn't' reopen yet because of restrictions. Those are manufacturing, construction, wholesale, and part of retail.

The mayor indicated that clothing stores, furniture stores, and office supply stores are still restricted to the curbside and in-store pickup.

He also estimated that around 200,000 to 400,000 workers will resume their work. The forecast is based on the analysis of April 2020 employment in impacted industries.

The mayor said that those numbers may mean the entire city in some parts of America.

He added that some sectors, if not all of them, will have to follow social distancing guidelines, and keep occupancy under 50%, use personal protective equipment, require regular cleaning of shared surfaces, health screenings for employees such as temperature checks or questionnaires, and communicate with employees and patrons using distance markers and signs.
