The wife of Alton Mayor Brant Walker has been arrested at a party in a local tavern on April 5.
Walker who used to crack down on any citizen who violates the stay-at-home order apologized to the Alton residents for his wife’s behavior: “My wife is an adult capable of making her own decisions, and in this instance, she exhibited a stunning lack of judgment. I am embarrassed by this incident and apologize to the citizens of Alton for any embarrassment this incident may cause our city,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
At around 1 a.m. Sunday, officers arrived at Hiram’s Tavern bar to break up a downtown “social gathering” that involved Shannon Walker who is currently facing reckless conduct charges.
