US news.

It appears that not all industries in the US are suffering from the devastating effects of the coronavirus pandemic as a new revelation from Nestlé USA showed a healthy increase over the lockdown period.

CEO and chairman of Nestlé USA Steve Presley said that sales of frozen pizzas, chocolate bars, and baking products climbed since the beginning of the pandemic.

Newly released data pointed to a 50.8% upsurge in food and beverage sales throughout the country until March 22. The most significant sales improvement included three categories: Packaged foods (+32%), frozen foods (+27%) and dairy (+26%).

“We have such a broad portfolio in the U.S. we see spikes across all of our businesses really with the exception being the out of home business obviously,” Presley added.
