Hours after announcing on Twitter his COVID-19 positive diagnosis, CNN’s Chris Cuomo went on-air from his home on Tuesday night to discuss the pandemic.

“I tested positive. Scary, yes, as you might imagine. But better me than you,” the 49-year-old TV host said. He continued with a cracked voice when he shared his fears over infecting his family members which he considers “way more hurting than anything the virus can do.”

“We have to do everything we can to avoid being sick. We have to do it for ourselves, our families, and for those on the front lines who are saving the lives of people. This is a fight, it’s going to get worse, and we’re going to suffer,” Cuomo, the New York Gov.’s brother, said.
