Sedgwick County police are following all the leads after the gruesome finding of a deceased body in a ditch on Friday, local news outlets reported.
A witness called police to report an abandoned car near Valley Center on Friday morning. Responding officers discovered the unoccupied Dodge pickup parked on the road. Nearby, the body of a deceased man was found in a ditch. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Sedgwick County Fire Department.
A homicide investigation has been launched following the discovery and the victim, believed to be in his 20s, is currently being identified, authorities said. The cause of death was not immediately determined pending autopsy results.
